WHAT WE DO

Leafield supports navies around the world to maintain and develop operational capability, with a particular focus on speed of response and cost-effectiveness.

We do this in many different ways:

  • Our historical business of supplying surplus UK MoD, Ex-Royal Navy stocks to support ships purchased from the UK and ships which share major design and equipment elements with UK ships.
  • Accessing our unrivalled database of suppliers, both OEM and alternatives, to commercially source parts that are not held.
  • Remanufacturing unavailable parts.
  • Designing modern alternative solutions to replace obsolete parts.
  • Overhauling equipment from Sonar Systems to Gas Turbines.
  • Installation and commissioning of new / refurbished equipment, including Compressors, generators, pumps and main engines.
  • Management of complex dry dock refits.
  • Overhaul of CPP systems.
  • Management of on-going maintenance programmes including both technical support and supply chain.
  • Provision of both locally delivered and UK delivered training courses.
  • Design and conduct of harbour and sea trials.
  • Project management of major ship upgrades.
  • Development of complex integrated solutions such as Fire Control Systems and Combat Management Systems.

In addition to this key support role, we also:

  • Continue to provide the UK MoD’s naval disposals service which we have operated for more than 25 years.
  • A disposal service for spare parts for many other commercial organisations.
  • We act as an integrator and prime contractor for a number of companies, both UK and internationally based, to deliver full solutions to navies around the world.
  • Most recently we have been appointed as the UK reseller for Genasys’ Long Range Acoustic Devices (LRAD) the market leading system for maintaining clear audio communication through sophisticated loudspeakers at ranges up to 5Km. This system is widely used by the US Military to protect their troops by keeping potential threats at a safe distance.
