Slavery & Human Trafficking Policy

Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It takes various forms, such as slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour and human trafficking, all of which have in common the deprivation. of a person’s liberty by another in order to exploit them for personal or commercial gain.
Leafield Logistics and Technical Services Limited (the ‘Company’) is committed to best ethical practices to combat slavery and human trafficking. This voluntary statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes the Company’s anti-slavery and antitrafficking policy.

The Company

The Company is a private limited company registration number GB06477347 incorporated on 18th January 2008 that provides a range of logistic and marine engineering services to the defence sector.

Management Responsibility

Senior managers have been briefed in respect to this legislation, our organisational responsibility, and what checks we are required to carry out.

Human Resources

The Human Resources Manual establishes conditions, processes, protocols, rights and responsibilities governing the employment of all employees. This extends to equal opportunities, pay, working hours, training and development, conduct and discipline and employee relations.

This forms part of the contract of employment between the Company and its employees. The establishment of regulated working practices alongside standards to be upheld ensures the just and fair treatment of all employees.

The Company recruitment and people management processes are designed to ensure that all prospective employees are legally entitled to work in the United Kingdom and to safeguard employees from any abuse, coercion or exploitation.

Our Supply Chains

We look to source from recognised organisations, vetting them wherever practicable as part of our Approved Supplier Selection/Monitoring process.

Our supply chain relates to the provision of goods and services that a service provider to the Defence Sector, would normally require. The majority of our goods are sourced in the UK or MOD stock sold on its behalf.

We are committed to ensuring that our supply chains are free of any suggestion of slavery or human trafficking. To ensure this, we seek to work with those organisations that share our values and can demonstrate that they too work ethically and with integrity.

As the contracting organisation, we expect our suppliers to ensure their practices are supportive of our approach. This requires suppliers to provide evidence of compliance with relevant legislative, safety, health, environment and quality principles and procedures, where appropriate, before being eligible to provide goods/services to the Company.

The Company reserves the right to refuse contracting with organisations that do not achieve this or are unable to address the minimum standards for their business in accordance with International Labour Organisation (ILO) conventions and other UK public sector commitments and obligations.

Compliance

To remain compliant, we:

• Undertake regular reviews of our purchasing processes
• Ensure that our HR processes and procedures are effective in identifying and reporting on any potential breach of employment legislation
• Maintain good and open communication within our supply chain to ensure that there is clear understanding of our expectations
